Vehicle locked on radar 50km/h over speed limit

On Friday Nov. 17, 2017 at approximately 5 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Indian Trail, near Eden Mills. The officer observed a male driving a 2007 Chrysler sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 40 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 90 km/h, 50 km/h over the posted limit.

Fifty-seven-year-old Leon L. Lovsin of Guelph has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Dec. 20, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
