On Dec. 9, 2017 at approximately 11:40 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County Road 109 near the Town of Arthur, Township of Wellington North. The officer observed a male driving a 2008 Dodge Ram at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.
Twenty-one-year-old Daniel Keinapple of Arthur has been charged with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on Jan. 3, 2018. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
