On Oct. 5, 2018 at approximately 9:42 p.m., Guelph Police were travelling south on Elmira Road when a vehicle backed onto the roadway, nearly striking the cruiser.
Police then observed the vehicle travel south on Elmira Road in the northbound lanes. At this point, Police pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the male driver. The male was given a roadside screening device and registered a fail. The male was arrested for over 80.
Ravinderjit Heer, a 33-year-old Guelph male was further charged with impaired driving. Heer is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20, 2018.
