Vehicle stolen from Toronto area found in Guelph. Local man charged

On July 17, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m., Guelph Police received a call from York Regional Police advising that a stolen vehicle from their region had a GPS tracker and was in the city of Guelph.

With the assistance of K9 unit, the Tactical Unit and uniform members of the Guelph Police Service, the vehicle was located in the area of Willow Road and Dawson Road unoccupied. A K9 track was conducted and led police to a residence on Willow Road.

As a result of the investigation, a male was arrested without incident. A 30-year-old Guelph male was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, drive disqualified as well as breaching his Probation Order. 

The male is scheduled to appear in court on July 18, 2018.
