Early on the morning of July 17, 2019, a silver pickup truck parked at a business on the east end of the city was discovered engulfed in flames. The Guelph Fire Department attended the scene and quickly put the fire out. The vehicle did not belong to the business or any employee. The cause of the fire is suspected to be arson.

While on scene, it was discovered that a company vehicle parked on site had the steering column and dashboard damaged, likely occurring during a theft attempt. It was also discovered that a white Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from the business. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Constable Mark Medulun at 519-824-1212 ext. 7346, leave an anonymous tip at Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.

The Guelph Police Service reminds the community to be vigilant in both locking and monitoring their vehicles.
