Victim identified in OPP investigation on Watson Parkway; death ruled a homicide

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is investigating a homicide after the body of a deceased male was located along the roadway in Guelph-Eramosa Township, just east of Guelph.

On Aug. 4, 2020, at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Wellington County OPP, along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services, responded to reports that a deceased male was located by a passerby along the roadway of Watson Road North just south of Wellington Road 124.

A post-mortem was conducted on Aug. 6, 2020, in Toronto, which confirmed that the deceased died as a result of homicide.

The victim has been identified as Mohamed Amin Ismail, 25 years old of Ottawa, Ont.

Investigators are appealing to anyone that was in the area of Watson Road North and Wellington Road 124 between Aug. 2, 2020, and Aug. 4, 2020, who may have obtained footage with a dash camcorder or cell phone of the area during that time.
