TOWN OF ERIN – On Sept. 27, 2020 at approximately 11:10 a.m. the Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft after the fact that occurred on Elizabeth Cr. in the Town of Erin.

It was reported that sometime between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sept. 27 unknown suspects entered the complainant's unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole his wallet containing all of his identification and bank cards as well as keys - house, mail and car keys.

The complainant was later contacted by two separate financial institutions and advised that his credit cards had been used successfully in the City of Guelph prior to them being cancelled.

Wellington County OPP is reminding residents to LOCK their vehicles or risk becoming a victim of crime. You would not intentionally give your entire wallet and house keys to a complete stranger. Prevent identity theft and fraud by removing your valuables from your vehicle and lock it.
