NEWS RELEASE
GUELPH POLICE SERVICE
*****************************
On Sept. 7, 2017 at approximately 12:20 a.m., a 2007 Honda Accord was located in the parking lot of the McDonalds on Gordon Street. The vehicle was in a pursuit the previous day but was discontinued due to the risk of public safety. The vehicle was reported stolen by the O.P.P.
The vehicle was processed by our Scenes of Crimes Officers, and Police received a DNA hit from the Centre of Forensics of Science. As a result, Joshua Scott, a 32-year-old Guelph male was wanted for possession of stolen property over $5,000.
On Jan. 10, 2019, with the assistance of the H.E.A.T. team, a vehicle was stopped at the corner of Neeve Street and Surrey Street with Scott in the back seat, and he was placed under arrest. Upon searching Scott, Police located over a gram of what is believed to be crystal meth. Scott was further charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Scott is scheduled to appear in court in February 2019.
