In October of 2016, Guelph Police began an investigation of an internal theft of $4800 into a business. From that investigation, Tabitha Lawrence, a 40-year-old Guelph female was arrested on Dec. 10, 2016. Lawrence was released, but failed to attend court and on July 14, 2017. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

On Jan. 11, 2019, Lawrence attended a Kitchener court to act as a surety for another party. It was learned that she was wanted by Waterloo Regional Police, and they arrested her. She was returned to Guelph and appeared in bail court on Jan. 12, 2019.
