A Guelph man faces weapons and drug charges after he was arrested Thursday on an outstanding warrant, report Guelph police.

Just after 8 a.m., an officer on patrol downtown spotted a man known to be wanted on several outstanding charges, including break and enter and failing to appear in court.

The man was placed under arrest on the warrant. A search incident to arrest revealed a black bb gun, a contaminated digital scale, a small amount of suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia and a Visa card in a female’s name.

A 39-year-old man is further charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking and possessing a stolen credit card. He was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in a Guelph court in June.
