Guelph Police Service dealt with 235 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

B.E.A.T. makes arrest
On January 14, 2019, Guelph Police investigated the theft of copper from two businesses in Guelph. Two males have since been identified by B.E.A.T.

On April 9, 2019, a 44-year-old Guelph man was arrested and has been charged with theft under and trafficking in stolen property. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 29-year-old Guelph man is still sought by police.

Theft/search warrant/arrests
On April 7, 2019, Guelph Police officers received a complaint that property had been stolen from a Woolwich Street residence. Investigation identified two females as being responsible for the theft. Arrest warrants were sought and officers were able to determine that stolen property had been taken to the residence of one of these women.

Officers obtained a search warrant for that Guelph residence on April 8, 2019. The subsequent search resulted in a number of stolen items being recovered. The two woman were located in the residence at the time of the search warrant and arrested.

A 47-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with theft under $5,000.

A 29-year-old Guelph woman has been charged with theft under $5,000 and breach probation.

Both will appear in court on May 21, 2019.

Break and enter
On April 9, 2019, the Guelph Police went a Celia Crescent residence for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry to the garage after they entered the unlocked car in the driveway and used the garage remote. A theft of their car keys and other items as well as a silver 2014 Nissan four door, licence plate BNZP989 is reported.

Break and enter
On April 9, 2019, the Guelph Police went a Ryan Avenue residence for a break and enter. The culprit(s) gained entry to the backyard shed sometime overnight. A theft of a guitar and electronics is reported.

Break and enter
On April 9, 2019, at 3:19 a.m.,  Guelph Police went a Quebec Street church for a break and enter. The suspect gained entry through the side door and caused extensive damage inside. The description of the man is approximately 5’10”, short brown hair wearing a grey hoody and had two backpacks.

Four arrested on warrants
A 30-year-old Guelph man arrested on warrant for criminal harassment and two counts of breach probation. He will appear in court on May 24, 2019.

A 40-year-old Chapleau man arrested on a Waterloo warrant. He was then turned over to Waterloo Police.

A 24-year-old Guelph female arrested on a warrant for breach recognizance. She was held for a bail hearing.

A 43-year-old Guelph man arrested on a Halton warrant. He was then turned over to Halton Police.
