Guelph Police Service dealt with 252 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the GUelph Police Service:

Break and enter
On April 16, 2019, the Guelph Police went a Dawson Road business for a break and enter. The culprit(s) smashed the front door to gain entry sometime overnight. Once inside, locks were cut off storage cages and a theft of an acetylene tank is reported.

Theft from property
On April 16, 2019, the Guelph Police went to a Bagot Street residence to investigate a theft. Sometime between Friday night (April 12) and Saturday morning (April 13), a cargo trailer on the property had been entered and a theft of tools, valued at approximately $8,400 is reported.

Stolen motorcycle recovered
On April 15, 2019, Guelph Police received the report that a black 2005 Kawasaki KLR650 had been stolen. It had been parked at a Clearview Street business sometime between April 13 at 1 a.m. and April 14 at 10 p.m. The plate on the bike is 0619R and it is has a sticker that says “Union Jack” on the windshield.

On April 16, 2019, the motorcycle was located on Clearview Street hidden in bushes near the property.

Police arrest four on warrants
A 44-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for multiple offences. B.E.A.T. then charged the man in relation to a break and enter that occurred on March 18, 2019. He was further charged with possession of stolen property and trafficking stolen property. He will appear in court on May 28, 2019.

A 38-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for fail to attend court. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 35-year-old Guelph man arrested on a warrant for fail to attend court.He will appear in court on May 28, 2019.

A 35-year-old Guelph woman arrested on a warrant for fail to attend court.She will appear in court on May 21, 2019.

Theft from cars
On April 16, 2019, the Guelph Police received two reports of theft from cars. The locations were Dumbarton Street and Baker Street.

This crime is easily avoidable. Please lock your cars and do not leave belongings visible. If you do become a victim of this crime you can report it through the Guelph Police online reporting portal.

Over the past 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service dealt with 252 calls for service.

Car stolen
On April 17, 2019 the Guelph Police received the report that a black 2013 Hyundai Tucson, plate BVEV027 had been stolen sometime overnight. The car was parked at a Kearney Drive residence.
