Alert Loss Prevention Officers at a Stone Road business contacted police on the afternoon of April 18 when they recognized two males believed to be responsible for a number of thefts at other chain stores across the province.

Fraud arrest

Alert Loss Prevention Officers at a Stone Road business contacted police on the afternoon of Apr. 18 when they recognized two males believed to be responsible for a number of thefts at other chain stores across the province. The two males split up, left the store and the LPO’s followed the males while police were on the way.

When police arrived they were able to stop and investigate one of the males who provided identification that was not his own. The 37-year-old Brampton man was arrested and is charged with obstruct police, breach of recognizance, identity fraud, possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of possession of identity documents. He was held in custody and is to appear in bail court.  

Break and enters

Sometime overnight on Apr. 18, an unknown suspect(s) cut through the yard fence of an Elizabeth Street business. At this time it is unknown what property was taken and police are investigating.

It is believed that an unknown suspect(s) entered a Woodlawn Road home through doors that were left unlocked between 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Apr. 18. Jewellery was reported stolen from inside.

Sometime overnight on Apr. 18, unknown suspects entered an unlocked shed in the back yard of a Dufferin Street home and took two TREK bicycles. One was black and orange in color and the other was black and blue.
