Guelph Police are looking to locate the victim of an indecent act that took place downtown during the evening hours of Aug. 23, 2016.

Indecent act downtown

Guelph Police are looking to locate the victim of an indecent act that took place downtown during the evening hours of Aug. 23, 2016. This female had reported a male committing the act while in his silver car in the area of Quebec Street/Baker Street. After police spoke with the male in question, police returned to the victim’s location but she had left.

Bike theft

On July 29, 2016 a bicycle was stolen from the bike shelter at 1 Stone Road. Video in the area captured a man committing the theft and leaving a bike behind.

On Aug. 23, 2016, Guelph Police located the man on Wellington Street riding another bike and he was arrested. The original stolen bike has not been recovered. The bike the man was on as well as the one he left behind on July 29 are still under investigation to determine if they were stolen.

David Bell, 33 years old of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on October 4, 2016.

Trespassers located and charged

On Aug. 24, 2016 at 12:15 a.m., the Guelph Police went to College Heights High School on College Avenue West after receiving the report that people were on the roof. Six people between the ages of 18 and 28 were located and safely removed from the roof. Tickets under the Trespass to Property Act were issued.

Police incidents in the last 24 hours

The Guelph Police were involved in 227 incidents in this time frame. Incidents involve everything from traffic stops and accidental 911 calls to domestics and break and enters.
