On Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Guelph Police responded to an address on Emma Street in Guelph with regard to an emotionally disturbed male.

Barricaded Male Safely Taken Into Custody

On Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Guelph Police responded to an address on Emma Street in Guelph with regard to an emotionally disturbed male. Members of the Uniform Branch, Tactics and Rescue and Critical Incident Negotiation team attended and made contact with the male.

The male was safely apprehended at 11:20 p.m., and taken to hospital.

Theft from cars

On Aug. 30, 2016, the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Silvercreek Pkwy, Crossingham Street, Swift Crescent and Rodney Boulevard.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
