Guelph Police responded to 220 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male arrested for mischief
On Dec. 10, 2019 at 5:26 a.m., an adult male entered a restaurant located near the intersection of Gordon Street and Wellington Street West in the City of Guelph. He purchased a drink and sat a table.

At 5:47 a.m., staff observed that he was sleeping so he was asked to leave. In response, the male threw his drink all over the table and the floor, and eventually left. The male was located a short distance away and was arrested.

A 57-year-old Guelph male has been charged with mischief under $5,000.

He will appear in court on Jan. 14, 2020.

Vehicle vandalized
Sometime between 7 and 10 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2019, a vehicle parked at a commercial parking lot located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Silvercreek Parkway North in the City of Guelph was vandalized. An object was thrown at the back window, leaving a large hole.

Shoplifting investigation
On Dec. 10, 2019 at 12:39 p.m., an employee of a store located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road in the City of Guelph observed an adult female shoplifting. Police attended the scene but the female had already left.

The female is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Early 20s
  • Short red/brown hair
  • Black pants
  • Short black jacket with hood
  • Thick framed glasses
  • Carrying a bag

Multiple thefts from vehicles
Sometime over night on Dec. 9, 2019, a vehicle parked outside a residence located near the intersection of Stevenson Street North and Elizabeth Street in the City of Guelph was entered. A wallet and the vehicle’s ownership document were taken.

Sometime over night on Dec, 9, 2019, a vehicle parked outside a residence located near the intersection of Stevenson Street North and Eramosa Road in the City of Guelph was entered. A passport, headphones and two pairs of running shoes were taken.

Sometime between 4:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2019, a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a residential building located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road in the City of Guelph was entered. Multiple items were taken.
