On December 13, 2016, the Guelph Police investigated the theft of a purse in the south end near Stone Road Mall. Investigation alleges that an elderly female with a walker had two males approach her and help her over a snow bank.

Purse stolen

On Dec. 13, 2016, the Guelph Police investigated the theft of a purse in the south end near Stone Road Mall. Investigation alleges that an elderly female with a walker had two males approach her and help her over a snow bank. The males then left the area and the female realized that her purse had been stolen from the walker. The only description is that it was two males.

Break and enter

On Dec. 13, 2016 at 6:51 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Fair Road commercial property to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the fenced area sometime overnight and stole tires and rims and smashed a vehicle window.

Shoplifter arrested

On Dec. 13, 2016 at 7:13 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an Eramosa Road business to investigate the report of a shoplifter. It is alleged that a male concealed merchandise valued at over $1,500 and then ran from the store. Police were able to locate the male a short distance away and he was arrested.

Dustin Whealy, 27 years old of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on Jan. 27, 2017.
