Two men face assault charges

The following news release was submitted by the Guelph Police Service:

On Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 7 p.m., Guelph Police responded to a disturbance between two males that were known to each other on June Avenue at Kathleen Street, Guelph. The incident escalated when one of the males (allegedly) threw a beer bottle at the other, missing the male but causing damage to his vehicle. (It is alleged) the other male then brandished a knife to defend himself.

Both males were arrested without incident and no one was injured.

A 22-year-old Guelph male was charged with two counts of mischief, assault with a weapon and breach recognizance.

A 23-year-old Guelph male was charged with assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous.

Both males were held for bail hearings.
