In the last 24 hours, the Guelph Police Service have dealt with 206 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

On March 6, 2018, Guelph police initiated a theft investigation, where a suspect is seen going to the front porch of a residence and (allegedly) stealing a delivered item. Investigation revealed the identity of the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.

On March 20, 2018 the suspect was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and breaching his probation order. Joel Bell, a 32-year-old Guelph male, was given a May 1, 2018 court date.

Unlawfully in a dwelling
On March 20, 2018 at approximately 10:20 a.m., Guelph police were in a residential building on Carden Street dealing with a matter. While in the residential building, officers were alerted by a witness that an apartment had been entered overnight. Police checked the apartment and found two individuals inside.

Dana Mundell, a 44-year-old Guelph female, and Victoria Whittaker, a 36-year-old Guelph female, were both arrested and charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling. Mundell was further charged with breaching her probation order. Both were given a May 4, 2018 court date.

Damage to property - arrest
On March 20, 2018 a male was seen walking in the parking lot of a building on Woolwich Street and (allegedly) damaging a vehicle. Investigation revealed the identity of the suspect and police were able to locate him a short distance away. Karl Trento, a 23-year-old Guelph male, was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breaching his probation. He was given a May 4, 2018 court date.
