Assault, calls for service

The following are news releases issued by the Guelph Police Service:

On May 8, 2018, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Guelph police were called to a downtown business, where there was a report of an assault. Investigation alleges a female patron in a coffee shop was asked to pay her bill and refused to do so. The female then assaulted a staff member at the business.

A 41-year-old Guelph female was charged with assault, utter threats and obtain food by fraud. She was held for a bail hearing.

In the last 24 hours the Guelph Police Service have dealt with 245 calls or service.
