On October 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Huron Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the complainant’s apartment sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

On Oct. 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Huron Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the complainant’s apartment sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and stole a gold/yellow Rocky mountain bike.

Break and enter

On Oct. 18, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Beaver Meadow Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the open garage sometime overnight and stole baseball equipment and other recreational items.

Stolen cars

Sometime between Oct. 15 and Oct. 18 a red 2006 Chevrolet Uplander plate number BLPC427 was stolen from Smith Avenue.

On Oct. 19, 2016 at approximately 3 a.m., a black Ford Escape plate number BLXX 009 was stolen from a Pettitt Drive residence.

Recovered stolen vehicle: On Oct. 18, 2016 at 10:11 a.m., Guelph Bylaw located a 2006 Honda Odyssey in the area of Regent Street and Grove Street that had been reported stolen on Oct. 15 from a Valleyhaven Lane residence.

Impaired driver arrested

On Oct. 18, 2016 at 10:22 p.m., the Guelph Police while investigating an incident, located a male related to that call driving on Woodlawn Road East. A traffic stop was conducted, the male was determined to be impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

A 37-year-old Guelph man has been charged with impaired driving, drive over 80mg and criminal harassment. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on Oct. 19, 2016.

On Oct. 19, 2016 at 1:36 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Paisley Street. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Trevor Middleton, 45 years of Belwood has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on Nov. 4, 2016.

Theft from cars

On Oct. 18, 2016 the Guelph Police received nine reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Hadati Road, Green Street, Carden Street, Keys Crescent, Deshane Street, Doyle Drive, Ferman Drive, Cedarvale Drive, and Silurian Drive.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
