Guelph Police responded to 231 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Female arrested for shoplifting wine

On July 21, 2020, at 2:21 p.m., an adult female shoplifted two bottles of wine (valued at a total of $24) by concealing them in her purse, from a store located near the intersection of Wellington Street West and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph.

On Sept. 22, at 11:15pm, police located the female and she was subsequently arrested.

A 23 year old Cambridge female has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Breach Of Probation

She will appear in court on Oct. 13.

Theft from vehicle
On Sept. 23, 2020, at 3:44 a.m., it was reported to the Guelph Police Service that a vehicle parked outside a residence located near the intersection of Arkell Road and Gordon Street in the City of Guelph was entered. Entry was gained as the passenger window was smashed with a rock. Numerous items were taken including:

  • Laptop bag containing a MacBook
  • Purse
  • Various pieces of midwife equipment

Utility Trailer Break In
Some time between 4pm on Sept. 21, 2020, and 6:05 a.m. on Sept. 22, a utility trailer left at an open excavation site located near the intersection of Elizabeth Street and York Road in the City of Guelph was entered. Entry was gained as the lock was removed. Numerous tools were taken including:

  • Milwaukee M18 Fuel set – drill, impact wrench, small electric saw
  • Power inverted generator
  • Spectra Precision dual slope laser
  • 14 inch Stihl saw with diamond blade – gas cut off saw
