In the last 24 hours, Guelph Police dealt with 261 calls for service

The following news release was issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Tent City – Stolen Bike Returned

On September 11, 2018 at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Guelph Police Bike Unit were on patrol and were investigating a camp site in the area of Wellington Street and Neeve Street along the river.

During the investigation, Police located several bicycles.  One of those bicycles was reported stolen on September 10, 2018 in the area of Imperial Road and Paisley Road.  The bicycle was returned to the rightful owner.

Guelph Police would like to remind the public if your bicycle is stolen to report it to police, as well as registering your bicycle at www.project529.com/guelph.  This greatly aids in the investigation and helping us recover lost and stolen bicycles.

Weapons Arrest

On September 9, 2018, Guelph Police began an investigation in regard to a male confronting another male.  The interaction escalated to the point where a knife was pulled and more words were exchanged. 

As a result of this incident, a 36 year old male was arrested on September 12, 2018 for Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats, Carry a Concealed Weapon and Weapons Dangerous.  The male is scheduled to appear in court on September 12, 2018.
