Wellington County OPP respond to fatal collision (3 photos)

TOWN OF ERIN - On Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at approximately 7:30 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal collision involving two motor vehicles on The Halton-Erin Townline, near Ballinafad. A Dodge minivan and Kia SUV collided head on.

The driver of the Kia, a 37-year-old male from Brampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 37-year-old passenger in the Kia was rushed to local hospital with serious injuries. The unidentified driver of the Dodge was rushed to a trauma centre with life threatening injuries.

The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.

Halton Hills Fire Department, Halton Region Paramedic Services and Halton Regional Police Service also responded.

The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI). The Halton-Erin Townline between the Fourth Line and Fifth Line remains closed at this time.
