Resident witnesses mischief and assaulted

At approximately 1:30 a.m. today, a Mason Court resident was sitting on the front porch of her home when she watched a woman, who lived in the lower apartment of the home, walk out and knock over a garbage bin that had been set out at the curb.

The woman then walked over to the other tenant and assaulted her as she tried to go back into her house.

The tenant’s husband came out to help his wife and separated the two women. The woman also made threats towards pets in the tenant’s apartment.

Police were called and arrested the woman who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The female victim was transported to hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries she received from the assault.

Paulette Mallais, 53 years of age, was charged with assault and uttering threats to kill animals. She was released to appear in court later in April.
