Stolen car – arrest

On September 3, 2016 at 11:06 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a Pontiac Grand Am leaving a Doyle Drive residence.

A police query showed this vehicle had been reported stolen on August 28, 2016. A traffic stop was conducted and as the officer was speaking with the female driver she put the car into reverse and at a high rate of speed accelerated mounting the curb.

She then accelerated again in reverse mounting another curb and hitting mailboxes which caused her to stop. She was then arrested without further incident.

Catherine Woodruff, 32 years of Guelph, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Flight from police, dangerous driving and two counts of breach of probation. She was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with drive – no licence.
