Woman arrested after police say they found her drinking stolen booze

A Guelph female was arrested Tuesday while drinking an alcoholic beverage stolen minutes earlier.

Approximately 5:35 p.m. Tuesday a female entered a business on Speedvale Avenue East and allegedly placed several items into her purse, then left the store without attempting to pay. She was arrested a short distance away while drinking a stolen beverage.

A 36-year-old Guelph female is charged with theft under $5,000 and breach of probation. She will appear in a Guelph court October 19, 2021. Most of the product was recovered.
