Woman sprayed with noxious substance downtown

An altercation occurred and the female was sprayed in the face with what is believed to be bear spray

On July 3, 2020, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Guelph Police were on general patrol in downtown Guelph, when they discovered an adult female that had allegedly been sprayed with a noxious substance. 

The female and her male companion had been standing outside an address on Carden Street, when a group of males approached the couple.  An altercation occurred and the female was sprayed in the face with what is believed to be bear spray.   The males then fled the area. 

Police called for an ambulance and the female was transported to the Guelph General Hospital where she was treated and released.
