Youth facing charges following hit and run

On May 14, 2018, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Guelph police were called to a Silvercreek Parkway North gas station, where there was a report of a collision. Investigation alleges the driver of a black Nissan did a “burn out," lost control and struck blue Dodge pickup truck.

Police attended the scene and contacted the driver of the Nissan. It is alleged the driver provided false identification to police. During the investigation, the suspect suddenly fled on foot, however, his correct identification had been established and a warrant was sought for his arrest relevant to the charges of dangerous driving, obstruct police and four counts of breaching his YCJA (Young Criminal Justice Act) probation order. It was also learned that the suspect was already wanted for failing to appear in court.

On May 15, 2018 at approximately 9 a.m., the suspect, a 17 year old Guelph male, was located in the SIlvercreek Parkway North area and arrested.
