Home Group Realty recently celebrated their tenth year serving the Guelph area this past fall.

As they move into their next decade, the Guelph-based brokerage is beginning their next chapter: merging with locally-owned Keller Williams brokerage based in the Kitchener Waterloo area. This fall, they will officially launch as Keller WIlliams Home Group Realty.

Founded in 2011 by Paul Fitzpatrick and a team of four innovative realtors, Home Group Realty has grown to a team of 50 experienced, locally-connected agents who can focus on their clients full-time, while the administration and marketing work is done behind the scenes, explained Fitzpatrick.

"Our agents put a lot of energy into the relationships they have with their clients. Real estate transactions don’t happen overnight – our team is working with their clients weeks in advance of the listing, and often spend several months helping them search for a home to purchase," Fitzpatrick said, adding that their team is constantly growing their skills and connections to be in tune with the shifting marketplace.

"They really care about their clients, and the industry," he said. "That's what's special about our brokerage, we’re not just looking to buy and sell homes; we’re invested in a healthy real estate market for our local area."

While the merger with Keller Williams – the largest real estate franchise in the world – may come as a surprise to those who recognize Home Group Realty as one of the most successful independent brokerages in the region, Home Group’s ethos have not changed. The two companies share much of the same client-centric systems and full-service ideology, and they are excited to join forces.

"We're taking our culture and ideology, and working it into the tried-and-true systems they already have in place and on mass," he explained.

He added that Keller Williams provides a lot of agent training, which is a big focus for Home Group Realty as the markets change.

"The big focus for our brokerage is how we train our agents so they can lead the industry…and be leaders in the community too," he said.

Fitzpatrick added that the merger would directly benefit clients and also support the long-term health of the local market by providing Home Group agents with new strategies for dealing with the changing market through collaboration with successful real estate teams from around the world.

"As the market shifts, our team is taking responsibility for their clients and how they navigate the market, helping them take advantage of opportunities and managing difficult situations," he said. “As we come out of the hot seller’s market we’ve seen over the past few years, we’re committed to being leaders in their industry – not at the whim of the changing market.”
