Lives are saved every day at Guelph General Hospital: Bruce ‘Barks’ Barker shares his story

Bruce ‘Barks’ Barker had been a radio and sports announcer for his entire career. As he lay in his patient bed at Guelph General Hospital, unable to talk as a result of a stroke, he started to sob as he thought “Is it all over?”

This holiday season, Bruce encourages everyone to “support the Hospital that saved my life.”

Guelph General depends on community support for every piece of patient care equipment they use.

Today, your kind donation will help the Hospital acquire important things like surgical equipment for the operating rooms and to set up new in-patient rooms.

“I think Guelph is the greatest city I’ve ever lived in. And you’re a big part of that,” says Bruce. “Thank you for considering a gift that can save a life.”

Want to make a difference in our community?

The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital is currently accepting donations towards their seasonal fundraising campaign to fund the Hospital’s highest priority patient care equipment needs.
