A brand new, total wellness centre for mind, body and soul

Sabrina Thompson came to the city as a student at University of Guelph, and fell in love with the community and culture.

“I always had the idea to open up a wellness clinic. After coming to Guelph for University and working as an RMT, I knew it was the next step.” On October 1st, she picked up the keys for the historic property at 40 Norwich Street East and on October 17th, officially opened the doors at Thompson Wellness Clinic.

“From practitioners who work at the clinic, to our clients, everyone just loves the space. The lights, the character of the old homes in the neighbourhood… nothing but positive feedback.”

In just a few short weeks, what began with Thompson as sole Registered Massage Therapist has quickly and organically grown to a ‘total wellness centre’ hosting two additional RMTs, a Naturopath, Dietitian and aesthetic services.

20221014_124454Plans are in place to welcome a Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Osteopath and Mental Health Counsellor to the space, rounding out Thompson’s goal of creating an environment where you can work on all aspects of your Self.

Bringing Holiday Hope and Dignity to the Guelph Community

Many believe the act of giving is essential for complete personal wellness. As co-founder of the Adopt-a-Senior program, Thompson understands this philosophy fully.

This year, Thompson Wellness Clinic has pledged to support the Hope House Affordable Gift Market by collecting and donating new toys, games, books, and other gifts for children and adults. “Hope House holds a special place in my heart. I have seen how they treat all members of the community with dignity, no matter their circumstance.” The Affordable Gift Market is where community members shop for gifts under the ‘pay what you can’ model – even if they are not able to pay at all.

“It gives people that feeling of pride to be able to give a gift at Christmas. It gives them dignity.” Donations of new items in gift-giving condition may be dropped off during your appointment at the clinic at 40 Norwich Street East during the month of November.

An Open House is planned for Saturday November 26 from 12 to 2pm.

Members of the community are welcome to stop in, meet the staff and practitioners, check out the facilities and shop for local wellness products and aromatherapy. Thompson looks forward to meeting new friends and neighbours, and welcoming new clients on their own wellness journey.

“I would like you to come in for treatment and leave feeling lighter. Whether it's tired neck and shoulder from stress, or a hormone imbalance affecting your mood. Perhaps you need to talk to the mental health counselor. Or maybe you just want to glow a little bit by visiting our injector nurse. We want you to feel better, mind body and soul.”
