CENTRE WELLINGTON — Township will be keeping sewer lines clear with a new sewer cleaning/hydro-vac machine.

The machine can be used to clean catch basins, manholes, storm lead structures, sanitary sewers, and it can be used for hydro-excavation. It will cost $588,000.

Hydro-excavation is to spray water to break down something and a vacuum to remove the material.

Alternatively, the machine could have been purchased from C.M. Canada Inc. for $699,935. But the town is purchasing the one from FST Canada Inc instead.

This new machine will take the place of the 2010 model currently used.
