The Town of Erin will decide Thursday whether to allow a rezoning that would clear the way for a fitness centre to move into a former funeral home.
Erin Fitness wants to relocate to the former MacIntyre Family Funeral Home. They are seeking a bylaw amendment to do so.
The site is now rural commercial site specific. Erin Fitness is requesting that the site be changed to highway commercial site specific so that the relevant location can be allocated for Commercial Recreation and Medical Clinic.
If the move happens, the site will partially remain the same but there will be internal renovations.
According to provincial policies, construction and development needs to effectively use land, resources as well as current and future infrastructure.
The surrounding area is largely residential, with a child care facility to the south.
The Council meeting will occur on Thursday at 3 p.m.
