GUELPH/ERAMOSA - The Indian trail from Wellington Road 29 to Wellington Road 44 will finally be resurfaced as Guelph/Eramosa Township received final tender results.

At its Monday's council meeting, Guelph/Eramosa council will award the tender of the resurfacing and rehabilitation work of Indian Trail to Brantco Construction

Twelve contractors were requested to submit documents and only four submitted its bids prior to the closing date on Thursday May 5 at 2 pm. Branto Construction had the lowest bid, meanwhile Steed & Evans had the highest bid at $634,289.34.

The approved 2022 capital budget for this project is $530,000. However, accounting for the tax rebate, engineering, contract administration and inspection costs, the total project cost is estimated to be at $505,000.

Funding for the Indian Trail was approved from the Canada Community Benefit Fund (CCBF) which was formerly know as the Federal Gas Tax. The unused portion of approved funding will remain in the CCBF reserve and be available for allocation to future projects in subsequent budgets.
