CENTRE WELLINGTON – Two Xplornet towers are being proposed in the Belwood area.

Reports being brought forward at a Centre Wellington council meeting on Monday show two telecommunication towers are being proposed to go on Seventh Line.

The report says Xplornet Communications, a rural wireless internet service provider, is looking to build one tower at 6708 Seventh Line in the former Township of West Garafraxa and one at 5976 Seventh Line in the former Township of Eramosa.

Xplornet already has equipment on a silo on the existing properties but is suggesting the new towers will enhance internet and data coverage as well as service for current customers.

The report says both towers will stand 45 metres tall and neither requires a building or fencing at the base.

The Township of Centre Wellington has no objection to the towers and recommends council authorize their development.
