Guelph’s Austen Keating is getting his shot in the professional ranks.
The 25-year-old signed an amateur tryout contract with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals Friday morning. Norfolk is affiliated with the Winnipeg Jets.
Keating is coming off a U SPORTS national men's hockey championship victory with the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Reds last month, capping a perfect 43-0 season.
The Admirals say he was skating with the team this morning, and is scheduled to make his debut tonight against Reading.
