At the age of 72, of Rockwood, Ontario after a brief and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family on February 20, 2016.
Julie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Jim of 50 years, her daughters Shari (Brian Devries) and LeeAnne (Murray Dewar), her adored grandchildren Taylor and Jacob Box and Murcedes and Izsak Dewar. Beloved daughter of the late Catherine Stella and Gerald Byers.
Predeceased by eldest sister Catherine Byers, survived by her dearest sisters Carol (Ian McGuffie), Elizabeth Byers, Susan (Peter Falconer), Dorothy Gourlay and her brothers David (the late Gail) and Michael Byers.
Loved daughter-in-law of the late Sophie and Ed Thatcher.
Sadly missed by John and Janet Thatcher, Jerry and Brenda Thatcher and the late Janet Thatcher.
She leaves behind her many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Her family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
A Service to commemorate Julie’s life will be held in the Hart Chapel on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with cremation to follow.
