The Guelph Storm has fired coach Chad Wiseman.

The team made the announcement Monday morning.

Wiseman spent two years as head coach after serving as an assistant for one year and associate coach for one year.

His record as head coach over those two seasons was 68-56-10-2. The team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs both seasons.

"I've sat in that chair and it's not an easy day," Storm GM George Burnett told GuelphToday.

"It's not an easy conversation to have. I've known Chad for six years and I consider him a friend.

"But Chad is a good young coach and I'm sure he's going to land  on his feet very quickly."

Burnett said the team will be meeting over the next couple of days with assistants Daniel Fitzgerald and Rob Collins.

He said not the team will go through the due diligence of finding the team's next coach.

"There's no rush," Burnett said. "We've had no discussions with anyone. We'll be inundated with interest I'm sure."

Wiseman was the 17th coach in franchise history.
