A female was taken to hospital for treatment following an assault near Exhibition Park on Thursday, prompting a police investigation.
The incident happened sometime between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Speedvale Avenue West and Kathleen Street, explains a police news release.
“The victim was not forthcoming with information, but it is believed she was attacked after becoming involved in a verbal altercation with a male known to her,” states the release. “It is believed that this is an isolated incident, and there is no current concern for public safety.”
