Guelph Police responded to 172 calls for service

The following news releases were issued today by the Guelph Police Service:

Male arrested on warrant after refusing to leave
On Dec. 16, 2019 at 9:28 a.m., members of the Guelph Police Service were dispatched to a bank located near the intersection of Silvercreek Parkway North and Woodlawn Road West in the City Of Guelph in regards to an adult male refusing to leave.

Police attended the scene, identified the male and soon learned that he was wanted on a warrant for failing to reappear in court on Dec. 13, 2019. He was then arrested.

A 31-year-old Guelph male will appear in court on Jan. 31, 2020.  

Front door damaged during residential break-in
Sometime over the past week, a residential unit under construction located near the intersection of Victoria Road South and Macalister Boulevard in the City of Guelph was entered. Nothing was taken, however the front door was damaged.

Multiple thefts from motor vehicles
Sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on Dec. 16, 2019, a vehicle parked at a residence located near the intersection of Clairfields Drive West and Clair Road West in the City of Guelph was entered. Multiple items were taken including the vehicle ownership/insurance documents, a ProxCard and automotive fuses.

On Dec. 17, 2019 at 3 a.m., a resident woke up to discover an adult male going through her vehicle that was parked at the rear of a residential building located near the intersection of London Road West and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph. Police attended the scene but could not locate the male. A black purse was taken.

The male is described as:
    •    Caucasian
    •    Wearing a black puffy coat with fur on the hood and a Toronto Raptors baseball hat
