Have your donation to the Burlington Food Bank matched 3 times!

Our mission at BurlingtonToday is to strengthen the communities we serve and in the spirit of strengthening the Burlington community, we are spearheading a food drive in support of the Burlington Food Bank.

The holidays can be a stressful time for many families and now more than ever, the Burlington Food Bank needs our help to keep the shelves stocked.

In response to that need, we asked Michael’s No Frills to donate food packages for our loyal readers to purchase for the food bank through an online pop-up store.

BurlingtonToday then matched whatever was purchased as a cash donation to the food bank.

But that’s not all.

We know that Burlington is full of caring individuals and businesses who would generously donate to this initiative as well. So, we contacted a number of local businesses to see if they would also like to match reader contributions with a cash donation.

As a result, for every food package purchased in our pop-up store from now until Dec. 19 at 12 p.m., each dollar will be matched three times and all proceeds will go directly to the food bank. That means your $25 donation will be turned into a $100 donation!

Here is how you can buy a food package in support of the Burlington Food Bank:

  • Log in to your BurlingtonToday account (or register for free).
  • Select a food package you would like to donate and enter your credit card details.
  • Check the 'Confirm’ button and click ‘Donate’ to confirm your purchase.
  • That's it, you did it! You gave back to our community this holiday season.

Thanks to Michael’s No Frills for donating the food packages for this initiative, and to the following businesses who have joined us in matching each donation: QB Sports Bar Grill Games and Rochelle Edwards - The Genuine Realtor - S. Todd Real Estate Ltd.

BurlingtonToday is proud to lead this worthwhile cause in an effort to reduce hunger and poverty in our community, particularly as the holiday season draws near.

Programs like this and support from businesses and community members - like you - help us to give back to Burlington.
