Medical call leads police to man wanted for other incidents

A Saturday evening medical call led to the arrest of a man wanted for a couple of unrelated incidents from four days prior.

Officers and paramedics responded to a medical call in the area of Arthur Street North and Macdonell Street at about 6:10 p.m. The male was spoken to by paramedics and medically cleared, notes a police news release.

While police spoke with the man, officers discovered he was wanted for warrants that were in the process of being issued in relation to two separate incidents on Tuesday.

At about 8:40 p.m. a man entered a commercial establishment on Silvercreek Parkway North and allegedly used counterfeit currency to pay for items. 

About three hours later, a man entered an ATM vestibule on Speedvale Avenue East and allegedly shot off a pellet gun. Damage is estimated at $300.

A 40-year-old Guelph man is charged with mischief, weapons dangerous, uttering counterfeit money and five counts of breaching a probation order.
