Police made two impaired driving arrests on the weekend, one involving a 22-year-old Guelph man and the other a 62-year-old man from Sudbury.

The first incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while police were patrolling the area of Ironwood Road and Scottsdale Drive. Police say a vehicle was seen moving in an aggressive manner, which prompted a traffic stop.

The driver was spoken to and a roadside sobriety test was administered, resulting in a fail.

As a result, a 22-year-old Guelph man was charged with impaired driving as well as Highway Traffic Act offences.

Police responded to a reported collision on Woodlawn Road East at about 1:45 a.m. on Monday.

When officers arrived, they allegedly witnessed one of the vehicles being driven away, the release notes. The vehicle was stopped and the driver reportedly showed “obvious signs of impairment” and was arrested.

A 62-year-old Sudbury man was charged with impaired driving and a Highway Traffic Act offence.

There were no reported injuries as a result of the collision.
