Community Builders Awards: Anuradha Saxena is this year’s Unsung Hero

Anu’s volunteerism benefits many of Guelph’s non-profit organizations

Anuradha Saxena is a committed volunteer whose quiet dedication and commitment to helping a variety of local non-profit and community organizations truly makes Guelph a better place to live.

Anu is involved with a number of different agencies and events in Guelph, but most notably she is a member of the YMCA Women of Distinction Steering Committee, a board member of Immigrant Services Guelph-Wellington and board president of the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival, which she directs annually.

She works tirelessly to connect non-profits with volunteers, businesses and other like-minded individuals and organizations that share their goals and aspirations.

But she has also been integral to the celebrating and strengthening of Guelph’s rich, diverse population and to promoting cultural awareness and the diversification of volunteerism in our community.

Her positive attitude, love for the community of Guelph and kindhearted nature make her a true community builder and an inspiration to all who have worked with her.

The Unsung Hero award is presented to an individual whose tireless work and/or volunteer efforts in our community seek to improve the lives of others.

Congratulations, Anu!

This award is proudly sponsored by Sleeman Breweries.
