Community Builders Awards: Innovator, humanitarian and business leader Jim Estill named this year’s Hall of Fame Award winner

Jim lives by the mantra ‘do the right thing’ and it has greatly benefited our city

Jim Estill is the owner and CEO of Danby Appliances, a company he purchased in 2017 that now sells over 2,000,000 appliances per year.

In addition to creating economic benefits and job opportunities for the community of Guelph, Jim has also invested in many other start-ups that have in turn contributed to our local economy.

Beyond his entrepreneurial success, Jim is dedicated to philanthropic initiatives in our community, using his business platform for good. In 2015, Jim sponsored the resettling of 58 Syrian refugee families and rallied the support of hundreds of volunteers and community groups to help the families resettle.

Since then, Jim has supported the sponsorship of approximately 150 additional people from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine through his company.

He has recently launched the Circle Home Furniture Bank to collect and redistribute furniture and household goods to newcomers as they settle and make Guelph their new home.

His generosity with his time, expertise, resources and connections help make Guelph a better place for years to come. Jim is a pillar of our community and a source of inspiration to future leaders.

The Hall of Fame Award is presented to an individual or a group that has had a significant impact on the community.

Congratulations, Jim!

This award is proudly sponsored by Wayne Pitman Ford Lincoln.
