GuelphToday received this letter about who should be the next leader of the Ontario Liberals.
With reference to the letter about Schreiner crossing the floor to be a Liberal, I completely disagree with the author.
First the quality of candidate put forward by the Liberals in Guelph has been disappointing and secondly the last Liberal leader had proposals that were not realistic. Hiring 10,000 teachers was not realistic, nor possible.
Having been an administrator who in the last 20 years tried to hire good quality educators, they were scarce. Better chance to win the lottery.
The only times I have not voted Liberal have been when Mike ran as he was so much better a replacement for the Liberal’s candidate. As leader of the Liberal party he would be a wonderful MPP, a strong supporter of his beliefs, and would put forth a realistic, intelligent platform. Something my Liberal party has not done for years.
I sure hope he crosses the floor and becomes the Liberal leader. He will have my vote.
