The Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) will be hosting the Medieval Festival, KnightsFest on Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In its sixth year, this is a family fun event with lots of activities for everyone to enjoy, including displays, costumes, games, activities and entertainment; all to the theme of the Medieval and Renaissance eras.

“Thanks to the generous support of TD, we’re excited to offer KnightsFest again this year and provide a fun event for the whole family to participate in,” said Samantha Zimmerman, executive Ddirector of the GYMC. “This is one of our most popular events at the GYMC, and always a lot of fun. The professional troupe, Blackthorn Productions, will be returning to be our guides through the Medieval and Renaissance eras. They will interact with attendees through music, costumed demonstrations, interactive games and activities, and armour workshops. Also, new this year is Middle Eastern dance by the Valizan and Company. What better way to celebrate, learn and have a great time together!”

Festival activities will include weapons and armour demonstrations, Medieval and Renaissance dancing, magician, and many other games and activities, such as hit the knight, trebuchets, displays, heraldry and photo ops with the KnightsFest King and Queen.

Thanks to TD support, this is a free event for the whole family. No registration required. For more information call 519-837-1119 or visit gymc.ca.
