It’s hard to imagine that at the start of summertime things are already heating up in preparation for the Christmas season of giving. Too soon, the tinkling sound of ice cream bells will be replaced with the jingle-jangle bells of Santa’s elves!

The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington is checking their to-do list (twice!), which includes finding a location to serve as their Santa’s Workshop for the Adopt-A-Family Program.

With over 2,000 children helped at the holidays, they require a large, empty space to house their hard-working elves and the volume of gifts they receive from donors to prepare for delivery to local families in need.

They are looking for a special Holiday Hero who could donate unused space this fall. Some of the requirements are:

  • Approximately 7,500-10,000 square feet of space in the Guelph-Wellington area (definitely not at the North Pole!);
  • Ample parking;
  • Prefer level access with no or few stairs;
  • Ability to drive up close to the doors or possibly large warehouse door for gift delivery/pickup;
  • Ability to bring in phone lines & internet connection;
  • Washroom on site;
  • Space required ideally from mid-October to early January.

But perhaps the most important requirement is to want to “make glad the heart of childhood”, and to know that you will play a big part in bringing smiles of joy to over 2,000 children during this holiday season!

If you might be able to help, please contact Karyn at 519-826-9551 ext 23 or [email protected].
