A celebration of culture, achievement and unique heritage will be held at Riverside Park on June 21 to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day, which is also the summer solstice.

Held near the bandshell, festivities are to feature music, dancing, drumming and stories, along with Indigenous food and art aimed at providing visitors “a unique cultural experience,” as explained in a post on the city’s website.

There’s no cost to attend.

The event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is planned by local First Nations, Inuit and Métis leaders, with support from the City of Guelph’s museums and culture division.
